the tallest man on earth - the wild hunt

beautiful second album from the swede. vocals may take some getting used to for the uninitiated but it's definitely worth it



titus andronicus - the monitor

raucous second album from these guys. a punk rock sound with gang vocals, guitar solos and the like but who said punk needs to keep to 2 or 3 minute tracks? the album closer is a glorious 15 minutes of madness. the video is part of the 7 minute opening track



black francis - the golem - excellent 'rock opera'/soundtrack to the German expressionist film the golem. the link to the film (with BF's score) is at the bottom, great stuff especially the ending. it's not that long.

grinderman - grinderman 2 - Nick Cave project that rocks hard. has a psychedelic tinge that doesn't detract from the sound at all

AND, have to mention a great young band from my area, tiger please. recently made it on to the likes of kerrang and scuzz. definitely one to check out if you have the chance. my favourite by them;
